Poor Dental Hygiene
Irregular brushing and flossing can cause teeth discolouration. And if you didn’t already know, you’re supposed to brush your teeth twice a day. Also, rinsing your mouth with an antiseptic mouthwash will prevent plaque, bacteria and stain-producing substances. So it should be part of your daily oral hygiene regimen. This will reduce the chances of your teeth turning yellow.

Medications
Some drugs are known to discolour the teeth especially if they are used for a long time. For example, the antibiotics tetracycline and doxycycline are known to discolour teeth if given to children whose teeth are still developing. Other drugs like Benadryl (antihistamines), antipsychotic drugs and drugs for high blood pressure can also cause teeth discolouration.
